hw® biotip consist of bio-elements which are amino acids and bio active components in same kind like present in the natural marine water. hw® biotip improves and protects the natural metabolic processes of all living cells in the aquarium. Contains beside other components:  Vitamin A, B1, B12, C, E, H, PP, Meso-inosit  as also the  amino acids Glycin, Leucin und L-Tyrosin

hw® biotip contains the same bio-elements which are part of the hw® Marinemix professional and hw® Marinemix reefer formulation. The bio-elements would be absorbed from all marine live forms and reduced by the enhanced biological processes in the  aquarium, in a relatively short time and should be replaced periodically. To keep the livestock of the aquarium in optimum conditions we developed hw® biotip, which contains all bio-elements of our hw® Marinemix formulations in a liquid and easy to apply form.

Involved in every natural ecological system in the numerous metabolic processes apart from inorganic trace elements are also organic catalysts, generally known as „enzymes“. Caused by the complexity of the matter this fact would be likely ignored or not brought to discussion. The enzymes, usually consisting of proteins reduce the activation energy necessary for each metabolic reaction and thus accelerate chemical conversion. Conversion is initiated by an inactive protein component in conjunction with an active coenzyme, where the coenzyme generally determines the reaction and its process.

This important bio-catalysts, important for the metabolic processes of animals and plants,  are mostly missing in the artificial environment of an aquarium and would be biodegraded by the metabolic processes or neutralized through chemical processes. hw® biotip will avoid the upcoming of such deficiencies on bio-catalysts through its balanced composition of  co-enzymes and growth factors which are essentially for the metabolic processes, the production of hormones, visual functionality, pigment formation and the fertility of the fauna and flora. hw® biotip is therefore a big step forward for optimal keeping and healthy breeding conditions in a professional reef aquarium. During the development of hw® biotip we was also specially focused on the importance of the element Cobalt as co-enzyme cyanocobalamin which could only be absorbed in a very small percentage through the organism, and must be therefore offered in a corresponding dosing.

Brief introduction to the main ingredients:

Meso-inosite:  Constituent of every living cell; encourages cation transport through the cell membrane and stimulation of the nerves.  Growth factor for numerous types of animal cell.

Nicotinamide:  Constituent of the cell building substance NADP (nicotineamide-adenine dinucleotide).  Particularly important for hydrogen transport in biological oxidation.

Tryptophane:  Serves as a transmitter substance for the nerve ends.

Tyrosine:  Thyroid hormone; encourages pigment formation.

Cyanocobalamin:  Vitamin B12.  Coenzyme, growth factor; encourages lipid and carbohydrate metabolism as well as the formation of blood.

Retinol:  Vitamin A.  Indispensable as a pigment for the retina, for reproductiveness, contributes to the stability of the lipoprotein membrane of the cell and subcellular particles.

Alpha tocopherol:  Vitamin E.  Acts as an antioxidant; protects the fatty acids, retinol and enzymes against oxidation; also influences the absorption of cyanocobalamin and nuclein metabolism; antisterility vitamin.

Ascorbic acid:  Vitamin C.  Serves for the formation and maintenance of the collagen level; reducer in tyrosine metabolism; protects the organism against a deficiency of other vitamins, also encourages adrenalinogenesis.

Glycine:  Amino-acetic acid.  Cell protein building substance; for blood pigment synthesis.

Leucine:  Amino-isocaproic acid.  Cell protein building substance.

Thiamine:  Vitamin B1.  Coenzyme function for degradation of carbohydrates.

Dosage recommendation:

To ensure an optimum supply of bio-element for all maritime life forms in your aquarium we recommend the following dosage:
Add one dosing cap (20 ml) for every 100 liters (26,42 US gallon) aquarium water in a weekly addition.

hw Wiegandt, hw multivit, 5000 ml PP-Kanister

hw® multivit

Multivitamin complex  for reef-tanks, marine-tanks and fresh water-tanks

hw® multivit for aquarium contains all essential vitamins in adequate and balanced quantities. hw® multivit strengthens the body’s natural defenses, improves the welfare and increases the blaze of pigmentation/coloration. The fertility will be improved and egg sponges will be more resistant, showing a higher hatching rate of healthy fish larvae.
When using dried or frosted fish food a additional vitamination with hw® multivit is highly recommended

Many animal losses in the aquarium are attributed to all types of diseases, although their actual cause is due to avitaminosis.
Aquarium fish are normally provided with sufficient nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats and proteins in their food.  This alone is not sufficient, there is normally a lack of sufficient vitamins, such as vital biochemical active substances, which ensure normal development of the fish and regular organ functions.
Vitamins cannot be built-up by the organism but have to be supplied to it with the food if vitamin deficiency diseases (avitaminosis) are to be avoided.
Reliable protection against high loss avitaminosis can be ensured by regularly adding hw multivit to the food.  hw multivit contains a balanced amount of all necessary vitamins.

With the application of hw® multivit the reproductive capacity and fertility is noticeably increased, resulting in a higher number of healthy hatching fish larvae.
By mainly use of frosted or freeze-dried fish food, it is highly recommended to use hw® multivit as additional vitamination to compensate the loose of vitamins during the freezing or freeze-drying process of the fish food.
The application of hw® multivit has been overall effective when it comes to the breeding of very delicate and sensitive fish larvae, lowering the mortality caused by vitamin deficiency.

hw® multivit encourages the good health, color and fertility of all ornamental fish, strengthens the natural power of resistance to disease and converts vitamin-deficient dry food into high-quality vital food.

Application instruction:

Important: Shake bottle well before and between applications!

Before feeding the dried or frozen food just add a few drops of hw® multivit on the food.

Dried food (like little shrimps, mollusc flesh, etc.) should be moistened (approx for 5-10 Minutes) only to the grade that the applied hw® multivit would be nearly completely absorbed by the food.

Frozen food like pieces of shrimps, mollusc, mosquito larvae, freshwater shrimps, etc.) should be defrosted and shortly rinsed with clean tap water. After this you can proceed in same way like with dried food. Be aware that the frozen food will only absorb smaller quantities of hw® multivit. To improve the absorption you can let
rest the so prepared food in your refrigerator for about 30 Minutes (max. 2 h).
hw® multivit encourages the good health, color and spawn of all ornamental fish, strengthens the natural power of resistance to disease and converts vitamin-deficient dry food into high-quality vital food.

hw Wiegandt, hw nanotip, Kanister mit 5000 ml

hw® nanotip

Micro nutritional solution for marine reef tanks

hw® nanotip is a micro-nutritional solution which has been specially developed for the nutritional requirements of corals, molluscs, sponges, and other filtrating marine life forms. The composition and structure of hw® nanotip has been  recreated corresponding to the natural food sources. hw® nanotip contains dissolved nutrients, micronutrients and nutrients in particle size, which will be taken up like natural marine plankton.

Recommendation of use / Dosing instructions:

Even like the fishes in the aquarium depends on regular feeding, so the corals, sponges and all other through filtration feed marine organisms needs additional organic nutrients which they actively filtrate out the surrounding water.
In the natural marine environment a very wide range of particle sized organic nutrients, zooplankton and phytoplankton are available in sufficient quantities at all times. In the artificial and restricted system of our marine reef tanks this feed sources are virtually non-existent but with hw® nanotip we can offer a nature like method to resolve and fixe this shortcoming in the marine reef tank.

hw® nanotip is a special combination of nutrients which has been developed by relaying on the composition and structure of the  natural food sources. hw® nanotip contains a wide range of dissolved nutrients, micronutrients and particle sized food which will be taken up like natural zoo- and phytoplankton.  The uptake through the corals is often to observe by an increase of coral polyp expansion.
To achieve an even distribution in the aquarium it is recommended to add hw® nanotip directly in the region of the water inlet or the flow pumps of the aquarium.

Recommendation of use / Dosing instructions:

For the first application in a reef aquarium with a medium stocking density, please add 2 ml (please use enclosed dosing cap with ml scale) for every 100 liters (26,42 US gal.) with an interval of approx. 5 days.

For reef aquarium with a high stocking density and therefore an enhanced need of nutrients the dosing can be elevated up to approx. 5 ml for every 100 liters, with an interval of approx. 5 days. Also possible is to keep the dosage of 2 ml/100 liters by shorten the dosing intervals from 5 to 2 days.

An overdosing is harmless, but should be avoided as to reduce the herewith unavoidable involved increase of nitrogen load to the aquarium water.

Shake the bottle well before using and store in refrigerator after opening.

Do not store the product above 25°C / 77°F

hw Wiegandt, hw hydrokoll, PP-Kanister, 5000 ml

hw® hydrokoll

Water conditioner for marine reed aquarium

hw® hydrokoll is a combination of organic colloids, similar like present in natural marine water, for the biological treatment and stabilization of artificial prepared marine water.
It replaces the protective colloids contained in natural sea water and counteracts intoxication caused by heavy metals, phenols and bacterial toxins.
hw® hydrokoll protects fishes and corals against possible infections when the mucous membrane of the fish skin in injured or the organic tissue of the corals has been damaged. hw® hydrokoll also acts as stress reducer and shortens the „setting-in-phase“ of new animals in the aquarium and the time the animals need getting accustomed to the new environmental conditions.

Recommendation of use / Dosing instructions:

These protective colloids, contained in hw® hydrokoll, are not contained in freshly prepared artificial sea water and can only form very slowly in an aquarium filled with this water.
The consequence is in some occasions a high loss of otherwise completely healthy animals; one of the most frequent causes of initial losses in newly prepared aquariums.  The losses occurring when changing the aquarium water are often due to a related reduction of the contained protective colloids.

hw® hydrokoll renders heavy metals, phenols, bacterial toxins, coloring matter and fats detectable for the protein skimmer and greatly increases its efficiency.

After the addition of hw® hydrokoll, an increased activity of the protein skimmer can be expected.  This increased foam formation is unavoidable, since only on this way the bonded contaminants can be captured by the protein skimmer and removed from the aquarium water. Other products on the market use a simply encapsulation of contaminants without being able to remove them from the aquarium water. Therefore they remain in the water and can be released under unfavorable conditions .

Dosing recommendation:

When first time added to the aquarium a dosing of 5 ml hw® hydrokoll per every 10 liters of aquarium water is recommended (10 Liters = 2,64 US gal).

When the live stock consist mostly of delicate marine organisms like invertebrates and corals, a dosing of 2 ml per 10 Liters of aquarium water every 14 days should be maintained.

IMPORTAND:

After dosing hw® hydrokoll the protein skimmer must be observed and regulated down if necessary for the next 24-48 hours.
Otherwise the skimmer cup of the protein skimmer can totally overflow do to the enhanced foaming ability.

hw Wiegandt, hw tracetip-1, PP-Kanister, Inhalt 5000 ml
hw Wiegandt, hw tracetip-2, PP-Kanister Inhalt 5000 ml

hw® tracetip 1 and 2

Trace-elements for marine reef tanks
Combined method of 2 individual to applied trace-element solutions for marine reef tanks with high life stock density of corals.

When developing our hw® tracetip 1 and hw® tracetip 2, we focused mainly on the enhanced and special needs of marine reef tanks, to meet the elevated requirements of needed trace-elements.
In same time a high user friendliness should be given and over all a easily absorption of the supplied trace-elements be granted.

To ensure that all trace-elements will be stable, even under the high concentration in the final solutions, only selected chemicals  with extremely high purity and analysis certification
are used in the manufacturing processes.

hw® tracetip 1 and hw® tracetip 2 contains all trace-elements and element compounds which would be needed by corals.

hw® tracetip 1 and hw® tracetip 2 does not contain any colorants, preserving agents or any complexing or chelating agents.

With the user friendly application of only  2 preparation, hw® tracetip 1 and hw® tracetip 2,
the complete supply of trace-elements for a marine reef aquarium is ensured.

Just after a few application it is noticeable that the coral polyps became more strength and begins to open wider. After a few weeks of regularly use a noticeable growth enhancement can be reported and the corals became a more distinctive pronounced, natural coloration.

Recommendation of use / Dosing instructions:

Starting dosing is 15 ml of each solution (hw® tracetip 1 and hw® tracetip 2) per 100 liters (26,42 US gal) aquarium water every 7 days.
Add always to the strongest flow area ( for example the flow pump outlet) in the aquarium, so that a fast diversification in the complete water volume is given.

If, after initial good progresses in the overall development of the corals, the coloration brightness of the corals tissue begins to decline, so is it possible that the reason can be found in a possible overdosing. In this case the next outstanding dosing should be reduced to 1/3 part of the last time applied quantity. After a few days the coloration of the coral tissue will recover and the dosing quantity can be slowly increased.

In the following week the dosing should be increased in little steps, till the corals shows a optimal, natural color representation. Once this point has been reached, the optimum dosing quantity for your marine reef aquarium has be found and should be kept also for all following dosing.

Importand!
hw® tracetip 1 and hw® tracetip 2 should be never ever been mixed!
Always use the individual measuring cup of each preparation when dosing to the aquarium.
hw Wiegandt, hw miratip, PP-Kanister mit 5000 ml

hw® miratip

Trace-elements for marine aquarium with mixed life stock and greater focus on keeping of ornamental fishes.

Due to a wide diversity of different biochemical processes in the complete system of the aquarium and also through growing and physical development of numberless organisms the trace elements of the marine water are successively reduced.

If the concentration of trace-elements  in the marine water drops below a certain level, deficiency symptoms, noticeable through growth and development disorders,  could not be avoided.

hw® miratip adds all beneficial trace elements to the marine aquarium water that are used up by metabolism processes that continually take place in the sea water. hw® miratip enables the development of natural pigmentation and consistent growth, therefore eliminating common deficiency symptoms caused by lack of trace elements.

After the addition of hw-miratip the water is much clearer and the natural colors are more intense. hw® miratip contains no complexing agents or artificial generated element compounds!

Some of trace-elements contained in hw® miratip:

Brom (Br), Fluor (F) and Iodine (I): This elements for example are counted to the most important trace-elements concerning the growth of crustaceans, horn corals and sponges. A deficit on this elements causes makes it difficult for these organisms  to fortify harden there supporting skeletons and can lead to problems in the mouling process of crabs and shrimps.
Iodine (I) also plays a major role in the pigmentation of the living cell tissue.
The contained Molybdenum (Mo) and Vanadium (V) will be needed to produce several individual enzymes as also for the generation of complex enzymes. The contained selenium plays in all organism a important role as it would be needed to protect the cell membrane against damage through oxidation processes and serve the living cell as antioxidants (also known as free radical neutralizers).

the contained iron (Fe) is a indispensable component for the production of chlorophyll in plant cells and has a significant influence in coloration of the corals organic tissue .

The formulation of trace-elements in hw® miratip is a exactly synchronized and in his quantitative proportions coordinated, so that the elements can be easily absorbed by living cell complexes.

hw® miratip offers therefore a simple to use solution to avoid any possible trace-element deficiency symptoms in marine aquarium with mixed life stock.

Dosing recommendation / instructions:

Initial dose:
5 ml per 100 liters (2 ml per 10 US gals) aquarium water.

Subsequent doses:
10 ml per 100 liters (4 ml per 10 US gals) every 7 days.

Keep inaccessible to children!
Avoid contact with skin and eyes!
After opening preferably use within 12 months!

hw Wiegandt, hw iodtip, PP-Kanister mit 5.000 ml Inhalt

hw® iodtip

Iodine additive for marine reef aquarium

hw® iodtip stimulates and increases the growth, pigmentation characteristics, the resistance to diseases and negative environmental influences of all coral species and invertebrates  in a marine reef aquarium.

hw® iodtip improves the ability of echinoderms (for example sea-urchins) to build up there exoskeleton and facilitate crustaceans (crabs, shrimps, etc.) the moulting process.

hw® iodtip help ease the process of acclimatization for corals to new or changed environmental condition (like changes of illumination or moving into a new tank) and substantially reduces the risk of coral tissue infections.

Natural marine water has a average iodine concentration of about 60 mg/l (all detectable iodine compounds included). This value corresponds a very simplified standard value for natural marine water from the offshore regions.
Due to the decomposition of algae in the costal reef regions, and the herewith ongoing release of the accumulated iodine in the algae, the iodine concentration in this locations is significantly higher.

Therefore it should be comprehensive why the organisms in reef regions are accustomed and partly very dependent of free accessible iodine compounds in their environment.

The element iodine

Iodine can be supplied on many different ways to the marine aquarium water, which unfortunately  leads often to a very simplified forms of iodine supplementation to the reef aquarium without thinking about the possible risk involved.

It should be ever taken in mind that the element iodine, in its pure and unstabilized form, is a very aggressive and very volatile halogen (it means light sensitive) element. Iodine in it free or unstabilized form can be absolutely hazardous for any marine life form in the aquarium. Iodine in this form can cause  chemical burns and serious injury to respiratory organs,  mucous membranes and  organic tissue structures. Unfortunately a lot of iodine additives available on the market bases on simple, unstabilized and very volatile iodine compounds. A good example in bad way gives the relatively unstable  and therefore often aggressive potassium iodide solution, or the use of a simply alcoholic solution on free elemental iodine.
Regrettably this simply iodine solutions are the most often to find and are also the ones which can bring all the described disadvantages.

Recommendation of use / Dosing

Recommendation of use / Dosing

To ensure the optimal supplementation with iodine in the marine aquarium,  please add :

2,5 ml hw® iodtip per every 200 liter aquarium water once a week.

or

1 ml hw® iodtip per 21 US gal of aquarium water once a week.

hw Wiegandt, hw strontip, 5000 ml PP-Kanister

hw® strontip

Strontium additive for marine reef aquarium

hw® storntip is a high concentrated, on strontium basing preparation for reef and marine aquarium. hw® storntip acts growth-inducing and improves the pigmentation of stone and soft corals, as also form molluscs and calcareous algae.

Through the combination with co components in hw® storntip the absorption of  the provided strontium in the cell- and organic tissue structures would be stimulated and improved. By this way the optimal supplementation of strontium to all reef organisms would be ensured.

The element strontium is present in natural marine water (and also in hw® Marinemix professional & hw® Marinemix reefer) in a concentration of about 8 – 10 mg/l.
Strontium (Sr) is biophysically very similar to the element calcium (Ca) an many of the marine life forms needs it, in combination with calcium, to reinforce their skeleton structures.
The regularly dosing of  strontium with hw® strontip allows all calcium absorbing marine reef organisms like stone corals, Tridacna clams and calcareous algae to generate a stronger growth and avoids the otherwise possible deficiency symptoms.

The optimal and healthy growth of acropora sp. corals in a reef aquarium is standing strong dependency of a optimal strontium concentration in the aquarium water!

To ensure the optimal supplementation with strontium in the marine aquarium,  please add :

2 ml hw® strontip per every 100 liter aquarium water every 14 days.
If the aquarium has a very high life stock density, the dosing can be elevated up to a maximum dosage of 2,5 ml hw® strontip per every 100 liter aquarium water every 14 days.

or

3 ml hw® strontip per every 40 US gal of aquarium water every 14 days.
If the aquarium has a very high life stock density, the dosing can be elevated up to a maximum dosage of 4 ml hw® strontip per every 40 US gal of aquarium water every 14 days.

A high overdose can be hazardous for the organisms in the aquarium!
By applying higher dosing please check the strontium concentration in your aquarium water.

hw Wiegandt, hw odiex, PP-Kanister mit 5000 ml

hw® odinex

Treatment against Oodinium in marine aquarium

hw® odinex is one of the most reliable remedy against Oodinium and Cryptocarion  in marine aquariums.
hw® odinex has been successfully been proofed several million times in over 30 years of intensive research and is considered as indispensable in the marine aquaristic when a treatment against Oodinium and Cryptocarion is needed.

Important!

hw® odinex is lethal for all invertebrates like anemones, all kind of corals, mollusks, crustacea, crabs, shrimps, etc.
hw® odinex should be only applied in marine fish aquarium!
Ozonisation has to be turned OFF, to ensure that unwanted interaction is avoided!

Indication and how to start:

When noticing the lightest sign of an outbreak of Oodinium or Cryptocarion a direct dosing of 1 ml hw® odinex per every 10 liters (1,5 ml per every 4 US gal.) aquarium water should be made.

Treatment cycle:

On the 1. day apply a dosing of 1 ml hw® odinex per every 10 liters (1,5 ml per every 8 US gal.) of aquarium water.

On the 2. and 3. day apply a dosing of 1 ml hw® odinex per every 20 liters (1,5 ml per every 8 US gal.) of aquarium water.

By an infection with Oodinium the symptoms starts to disappear regularly after the 3. treatment day and the treatment is finished after the 4. day.

If the symptoms remain the treatment cycle has to be repeated after finishing the 4. day of previous treatment cycle.

Infection with Cryptocarion:

If the infection is caused through Cryptocarion, as this pathogen is more resistant,  the treatment can extend up to 14 treatment days.

Things to know before and during the treatment:

The treatment can often be favorably influenced by increasing the temperature to about 28°C.  At this lightly elevated temperature, development of the pathogens is greatly accelerated, so that the spore phase (in which the neutralization of the pathogen is only possible) is reached more quickly.

During the treatment the aquarium water should be only filtered mechanically via gravel, filter wadding or other neutral filter media. During the treatment cycle the Protein skimmer will almost show a increased activity and should be turned on but without any kind of azonisation!

Biological filter systems, such as trickle filters, etc., can remain in the water circulation system. However, damage to the bacterial flora in these filters with extended duration of treatment cannot be completely excluded.  On completion of treatment, this bacterial flora will normally recuperate within a few days.

hw® UV-Watersterilizer can and should remain switched on, as they would greatly supporting the treatment.
Ozonisation has to be turned OFF in any way, to ensure that unwanted interaction with the active substances of hw® odinex is avoided!

Since the animals already have oxygen absorption difficulties, depending on the intensity of the disease, it is important to ensure an god working gaseous exchange of the aquarium water to offer a good oxygen level.
An additional aeration with air pump, in combination with hw® Limewood-air-diffuser can be a great help to elevate the oxygen level in the aquarium water.

In the case of organically heavily loaded aquarium water (like it is to find in fish aquarium with high life stock density), an oxygen deficiency can occur when using hw® odinex, since a certain degree of oxygen depletion occurs due to the active substances.
If it is noticed that the fishes shows higher breathing activity (mouth and gill cover moving very fast) or fishes shows permanent opened gill cover, it may be necessary to transfer the fishes immediately into fresh water with an higher oxygen level.

When treatment is finished:

A change of water after treatment is normally unnecessary, since 99 per cent of the active substances precipitate within 10 days after the last addition, i.e. the active substances enter into combinations which cease to be soluble under normal conditions.
However, if after treatment, any invertebrates should be  placed in the aquarium, it is advisable to previously change the aquarium ground material, the filter substrate and the aquarium water, since the active substances can be reactivated through an oxidation process, as it occurs when applying Ozone to the aquarium water.

hw® odinex should not to be confused with doubtful copper solutions of varying concentration.  Although hw® odinex contains among other active substances, copper, and is far better tolerated by the animals than pure copper preparations.

Important!

hw® odinex is lethal for all invertebrates like anemones, all kind of corals, mollusks, crustacea, crabs, shrimps, etc.
hw® odinex should be only applied in marine fish aquarium!
